There are several ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. First: use Pflegegeld fully. Check if the care level is correct and the application has been submitted. Second: have the care level reviewed. Many families have a care level that is too low. An upgrade can noticeably increase Pflegegeld.

Third: deduct costs from taxes. Care costs can be claimed in your tax return under certain conditions.
