Care through CAIR is not round-the-clock work performance and not permanent availability. Caregivers work based on clearly agreed working hours and defined rest periods.

The industry-standard term "24-hour care" refers to the living arrangement in the household of the person in need of care, not continuous working hours. The term has become established, although it is technically misleading.

CAIR therefore places particular emphasis on transparent agreements regarding working hours, tasks, and on-call arrangements to avoid unrealistic expectations and stressful working conditions.

Depending on the individual needs of the family, additional knowledge or qualifications can be useful. Professional nursing activities are reserved for qualified nursing staff. Good language skills are advantageous as they facilitate communication and contribute to reliable collaboration.

Do I pay a fee to CAIR as a self-employed caregiver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The CAIR service fee is 15 percent of your fee excluding VAT and is added on top of your price, it is not deducted from it. The family pays both together, and you receive a fee invoice from us. If your business is established in another EU country, without VAT and stating that the recipient of the service owes the tax.
