The federal government adopted the bill on September 30, 2026. It is planned to take effect on January 1, 2027. The Bundestag and the Bundesrat have not decided yet, so the amounts can still change.

The new bridging budget does not count here
From 2027 there is to be a bridging budget of up to 2.285 € a year. It pays only for short-term care in a facility and for an ambulatory emergency service. It cannot be used for 24-hour live-in care at home.
